Pukhraaj is an Articled Student with a passion for access to justice and the betterment of his local communities. Inspired by his family background and life teachings, his ultimate goal is to become a Lawyer and contribute to the legal field with a focus on social impact.

Pukhraaj received his Juris Doctor in 2022 from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Choosing to study abroad, he sought to immerse himself in a new culture, broadening his horizons and fostering personal growth.

Prior to his adventurous student journey abroad, Pukhraaj received his Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Simon Fraser University in 2018, complemented by a certificate in Police Studies. His favorite courses focused on minorities and inadequacies in our legal system.

During law school, his favorite courses included alternative dispute resolution, domestic and international human rights. He also embraced his competitive spirit by participating in law school activities such as mooting and client-interview competitions.

Pukhraaj also had the opportunity to volunteer with the Access Pro Bono Society of British Columbia during law school. He took part in advocacy and also assisted in implementing technological upgrades. These technological upgrades included automation of court forms and digitizing documents to help improve efficiency. He represented a client in a hearing with Access Pro Bono for a Residential Tenancy Branch matter. These experiences reaffirmed and further fueled his commitment to access to justice.

His experience with virtual volunteer work at Access Pro Bono emphasised the benefits it has through efficiency for both clients and legal professionals. Therefore, Pukhraaj is eager to learn and apply his skills to the areas of Employment, Labour and Human Rights law and continue to contribute to the innovative future of legal practices at Labour Rights Law.

Outside of work, Pukhraaj values quality time with his family. He is also a lifetime golfer, competitive basketball player and enjoys swimming. Pukhraaj can also speak, read and write Punjabi fluently.
